THE CHILDREN OF WOLVES
A new performance work created by Hugh W. Brown and devised in collaboration with an ensemble cast of young people from Carlow Regional Youth Services
In the aftermath of a tech apocalypse, a group of young survivor’s cling to a fragile existence on the ragged edge of a ruined Ireland. Misinformation, relentless noise, and digital chaos have imploded. Civilization has crumbled into myth, leaving behind fractured lands and scattered survivors.
At the edge of this new wilderness, the group must navigate a world stripped bare. No governments. No networks. No lifelines. Only their instincts—and each other.
But survival is not their only challenge. As supplies dwindle and unease grows, something—or someone—lurks in the shadows around their fragile camp. Are wolves truly stalking them, as the elders fear? Or is a far more dangerous force closing in?
The Children of Wolves is a newly devised performance work that explores fear, resilience, and the power of unity in a world where the noise has fallen silent—and the next threat might not be what it seems.
Created by artist Hugh W. Brown, and devised in collaboration with an ensemble cast of young people from Carlow Regional Youth Services’ Bagenalstown and the Tullow Road Projects.
The Children of Wolves is commissioned by Creative Places Bagenalstown and co-produced with Take A Part Carlow, two socially engaged arts initiatives of Carlow County Council’s Arts Office, in partnership with Carlow Regional Youth Services. It is presented as part of Crunniú na nÓg, the national day of free creativity for children and young people and programmed in association with Bagenalstown in Bloom Festival.
This project is funded by The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon, through the Creative Pleces Initative and supported by Creative Ireland.
