I USED TO DREAM OF ROCKET SHIPS!

JITTERBUG JACKSON

A One-Man Circus-Cabaret Like No Other

Step into the extraordinary world of Jitterbug Jackson, the quirky, high-energy alter ego of internationally renowned performer Hugh W. Brown. With over 25 years of global experience across stage, screen, and street, Hugh brings his full creative force to bear in this unforgettable solo spectacle.

I USED TO DREAM OF ROCKET SHIPS is a whirlwind of circus, music, dance, comedy, and storytelling—an absurdly inventive one-man cabaret that blasts off from the moment it begins and never lets go. Jitterbug captivates with juggling, diabolo, high unicycle antics, and irresistible charm, but it’s his talent as a natural raconteur that truly lifts this show into orbit.

Each scene is a carefully choreographed, musically rich vignette, designed to amuse, amaze, and inspire. From Cambodia to Sardinia, from street corners to grand stages, Jitterbug’s unique blend of heartfelt humour and physical brilliance has dazzled audiences of all ages and backgrounds.

This is more than a show—it’s a celebration. Of dreaming big. Of being fully present. Of the joy in motion and the power of performance.

Presented by Creative Places Bagenalstown, an initiative of Carlow County Council’s Arts Office, and in association with the Bagenalstown in Bloom Festival.
